Macoto Murayama ist 29 und erstellt nun schon seit 2007 mit einem CAD-Programm technische Zeichnungen von Blumen. Ich weiß nicht, wie ich das bisher übersehen konnte. Japan ist so fürchterlich weit weg, leider.

Er verbindet hier gleich zwei Berufe: Zum einen ist er natürlich Botaniker, das erkennt man gleich. Doch auf der anderen Seite hat er jetzt seit nunmehr 20 Jahren Zeit gehabt sich an das Programm zu gewöhnen und dementsprechend sind seine neueren Werke durchgestylte Kunstobjekte, die eher wie aus einem guten Videospiel anmuten.

Seine Arbeitsabläufe schauen im Detail so aus:

„First, he chooses the plant and finds the real flower, for example the exquisite Lathyrus odoratus L.
Second, he dissects the flower cutting the petal and ovary with scalpel and observes it with magnifying glass.
Third, he makes sketches and photographs the parts of dissected flower.
Forth, he models its form and structure using 3ds Max (3DCG software).
Fifth, he renders separate parts and creates a composition using Adobe Photoshop. Sixth, he imposes admeasurements, parts names, scale, scientific name etc. Seventh, he prints out Lathirus odoratus L. at large scale printer and frames it…
